Shae Barber (they/them) is a current PhD student in human geography at York University. They hold a master’s degree in environmental studies from the University of Montana and a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and political science from the University of Utah. Their research seeks to understand human and more-than-human relationships with bodies of water, with a particular focus on how social, cultural, and emotional relationships shape environmental care and action. They currently co-lead the Great Salt Lake Social Science Network.
