Eliza Eckman recently completed an MA in Environmental Arts and Humanities at Oregon State University. She is interested in the social and political processes through which people respond to environmental and energy crises. Her research examined the legitimization of offshore nuclear power plants and dual-purpose nuclear power and desalination facilities in the United States during the 1960s–1970s. Eliza is a high school teacher in New York City.
