Emily Webster

Emily Webster is a PhD Candidate in Environmental History at the University of Chicago. Her work focuses on the relationship between environment and disease in the 19th century British Empire, and intersects with the history of science and medicine; public health and disease; land use change, ecology, and climate change; and the Anthropocene. Emily is currently serving as a mentorship officer for the History of Science Society and conducting research in India and the UK for her dissertation project, entitled “Diseased Landscapes: Land Use Change and Emerging Epidemics in the British Empire, 1837-1914.”
